Google is expanding access to its advanced AI video generation tool, Veo3, for subscribers of its rebranded AI service plans, marking a significant development in the tech giant’s AI offerings.
At its recent Google I/O event, the company unveiled a new Google AI Ultra plan alongside the rebranding of its existing AI Premium tier to Google AI Pro. A week after these announcements, Google is providing AI Pro subscribers with access to Veo3 within the Gemini mobile application. Previously, these members were limited to Veo2.
However, access to Veo3 for AI Pro members is currently provided on a trial basis, limited to a 10-pack of video generations within the Gemini app. This limited access is also being extended to Flow, Google’s new AI filmmaking tool designed for creating 1080p cinematic videos.
For users seeking more extensive access to Veo3, the AI Ultra subscription plan is now available to consumers in the UK, increasing the total number of supported countries to 73.
In a move to enhance transparency around AI-generated content, Google will now add a visible watermark to all AI-generated videos. The only exception to this visible watermark is for videos created by AI Ultra members using the Flow tool.
Despite the presence or absence of a visible watermark, all AI-generated content will continue to have Google’s invisible SynthID watermark embedded. Google recently introduced its SynthID Detector tool to early testers and plans to expand its availability in the near future.
