Samsung has resumed rolling out the One UI 7.0 update, based on Android 15, for the Galaxy S24 series, after pausing it due to a critical bug discovered in the initial firmware.
The company had initially begun the rollout but halted it a few days ago owing to the bug. Samsung is now releasing a newer firmware with the issue fixed, which is currently live in South Korea and expected to reach other markets soon.
The new firmware version, identified by the build number S928NKSU4BYD9, is being rolled out to users. It is unclear whether this update will also be available for those who updated their phones before the rollout was paused. To avoid the bug that affected the original update, users updating their S24, S24+, or S24 Ultra to One UI 7 for the first time are recommended to disable their lock screen protection.
The resumption of the One UI 7.0 rollout is part of Samsung’s efforts to deploy the update to various devices. The company had promised to bring One UI 7 to other devices before the end of the month. It is hoped that the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 will receive the update globally before May.
Users can check for the update manually in their phone’s Settings » Software update menu or wait for a notification once One UI 7 is available for their device. The One UI 7 firmware is also available in the SamMobile archive for those who prefer to update manually.
