Razer has launched its PC Remote Play platform, allowing users to stream PC games to mobile devices at native resolutions, aspect ratios, and refresh rates, with the app now available on the App Store and Google Play.

The Razer PC Remote Play platform is compatible with a range of devices, including those running Windows 11 or later, iOS 18 or later, and Android 14 or later. To function, the platform requires the Razer Cortex game launcher on PCs, which has been redesigned to be compatible with popular gaming services such as Steam, Epic Games, and Microsoft’s PC Game Pass. Additionally, mobile devices need the Razer Nexus game launcher and the Razer PC Remote Play app installed.

The platform is built on the Moonlight streaming client, enabling it to stream games at native resolutions, aspect ratios, and refresh rates. It also utilizes the AV1 video codec, which Razer states provides “improved quality and lower latency.” This technology contributes to a smoother gaming experience when streaming from PC to mobile devices.

In terms of controller support, Razer PC Remote Play is compatible with the Razer Kishi Ultra and all controllers that are compatible with iOS and Android. For Android users with the Kishi Ultra, Razer’s Sensa HD Haptics feature is available, translating in-game sounds into haptic feedback using the device’s vibration hardware.

When streaming to an iPad, the Razer PC Remote Play app supports connected keyboards, mice, and trackpads, making it potentially suitable for playing first-person shooter games and other genres that benefit from more traditional control methods.

Razer PC Remote Play was initially announced at CES 2025 and underwent beta testing before its official launch. The release marks a significant step forward in cloud gaming and remote play technology, offering gamers greater flexibility in how they play their PC games.
